Wow - the Dodgers added the second best player in baseball to a team that won 106 games.

This is the baseball equivalent of adding Kevin Durant to a Warriors team that won 73 games.

There is no excuse if the Dodgers don't win a title in 2020. As a Giants fan, I look forward to seeing them not win a title in 2020 anyway.

There was never an excuse. They are just chokers. The fact that they had to make this trade makes me think they aren’t going anywhere.

I’d hate to be stuck with that huge financial commitment to Price, a pitcher well past his prime. I wonder how much cash Boston will be sending to the Dodgers.

Betts is a great player. But he could be a one year rental. $27M/year is a whole lot of $$. If he has a good season, and doesn’t get seriously hurt, he could make a lot from free agency in 2021, and some number of years after. However, he will be going from the cozy confines of Fenway Park to Dodgers Stadium, known as a pitcher’s ballpark.

If the deal pans out, it will be interesting to watch this year.

Kershaw has done his share of choking, at the same time had Boston and Houston not both cheated in the World Series against the Dodgers it would be a mute point.
