I’d hate to be stuck with that huge financial commitment to Price, a pitcher well past his prime. I wonder how much cash Boston will be sending to the Dodgers.

Betts is a great player. But he could be a one year rental. $27M/year is a whole lot of $$. If he has a good season, and doesn’t get seriously hurt, he could make a lot from free agency in 2021, and some number of years after. However, he will be going from the cozy confines of Fenway Park to Dodgers Stadium, known as a pitcher’s ballpark.

If the deal pans out, it will be interesting to watch this year.

How much cash should they send them? The gave up a great and a good player, without asking much in return.

For Betts, there’s probably only three clubs that have the money for a long-term deal (Dodgers, Yankees, or Red Sox). If the Dodgers can get to the World Series and win...I think they will arrange a deal to be made. If they fail....don’t plan on seeing Betts around for 2021.
