One neighbor bought five cute little bunnies that he let run free. When I found one torn to shreds by a fox outside my woodshed, then another killed by a fisher, I shot the remaining three to spare them such a painful death.

I saved a young groundhog once. He fell into a five foot deep hole in the back yard, and could not get himself out, despite his formidable claws. I told him I was not going to hurt him, then put a leaf rake into the hole, and managed to get it mostly under him. I thought he would jump off when I started lifting him, but he stayed on the rake. When he reached the top, he hopped out of the hole, then stopped and looked back at me. I said “You’re welcome.” Eventually he waddled off the property.

I’d shoot it.
The heck with letting a rodent eat my hard earned produce.

The cute wears off pretty quick. Misplaced compassion, like the frog and the scorpion.

Sweet story. One day that little groundhog will be grown up, and may save your life against a Chupacabra ready to leap at your throat. “There’s no need to fear, Under-Hog is here!”

It's not just for wascally wabbits anymore.

Hmmmm... Theyre typical socialists: eating up for free what others labored to produce. Your tagline has the solution.
Perfect observation.

Raccoons are worsse. To a dairyman, barn rats, woodchucks, and the deer are all in the same class; feed and crop-destroying vermin. Shoot ‘em all, as soon as possible. See what a Ruger 10/22 will do for a just-mown hayfield. No friends of Bambis, no sir.

I guess that depends on whether or not the listener believes the lyrics. ;)
