Most of the commercials were frenetic. A commercial should have a point, and if there was one in most of them it was lost on the consumer. In discussing the commercials with an old ad agency type he felt that the commercials were a reflection of what the hand-held generation expects. There is flash, but the commercials demonstrated the inability to concentrate on any subject, idea, or theme for more than a few seconds. There is also the problem that a large number of Americans are juveniles who will never grow up; thus they must be served pap at every sitting where the visual dominates.
