If you go to the From The Heart Stitchers website, they have quite a few free patterns in both knit & crochet that make fine gifts for charity and even for your own use. Their knitted basic fingerless mitten pattern is the one I am using for my 'Mitten Madness' knitting binge.
Looks like one of the lovies is a Baby Yoda, which is all the rage these days and why not ... he's so stinkin' CUTE! :-)

Just got a new booklet with a dozen or so patterns for using ‘Scarfie’ yarn. There’s a shawl/shrug that has caught my eye.
So, only THEY can tell me what to do!
Cashed in my $25 gift card on yarn at Wisconsin Craft Mart, yesterday. Yay! And I was gravely disappointed that the St. Vincent Yarn Sale is only at a location too far away from me to make it worth my while. Boo! I guess it’s become so popular that they’ve been asked to move it to various locations. Makes sense, but no fun for me! :(

I made some crochet fingerless mittens last night after doing nothing but knitted ones for a month & a half. Someone in the family asked for a knitted hat to wear hunting - I had leftover yarn after the hat so I knitted him matching mittens; however his crocheted “lucky mitts” (first thing he packs when off on a trip) were made in 2013, so I made another pair in a camo yarn that goes with the hat.
It was nice to crochet - doesn’t bother my hand(s). The knitting is getting better/more comfortable, but crochet is still #1, IMO.
Got a pic of my relative’s baby on the blanket I sent her last week (the antique white that looks light yellow one). I love getting pics of babies with the blankets I’ve made for them - it’s a great reward!
BTW, I made a gorgeous scarf with “Scarfie” in royal blue & black ... the colors in Scarfie are really “rich”. Your project should be gorgeous.
'Ruana' 4 balls of 'Scarfie.' I'm going to look for either a medium green or another 'fall' color. I look best in those shades. I'll wear it with jeans and a simple, solid tunic-type top.

Currently working on a hat/mitten set in 100% Alpaca yarn. It's really soft & very warm.

I hope keeping America out of the hands of those citizens that want to tear Her down lasts long beyond his next term, but it’s an uphill battle with the Left that’s for sure. ;)
I spent a LOT of time with the wool ‘rovings’ when I was at Wisconsin Craft Mart, yesterday. To the point that someone asked me if I needed help, LOL!
I said, “Thank you! I’m getting all the ‘therapy’ I need right here!” :)
I’m considering Angora Rabbits for the same reason. But, that won’t happen until we get the new pole barn built so they have a safe place to live.
I had rabbits in my early teens as pets, so I’m very fond of them. None were Angora, but the first one I had was cat litter trained, walked on a figure 8 cat harness, sat in my lap while I was doing homework - really great rabbit. At the moment, I can’t deal with pets, so I’m trying to talk my niece into getting some Angora rabbits for her little girls. They just got “Silkie” chickens ... they look & feel soft so I do consider Silkie chickens a step in the right direction, we just need to exchange some feathers for spinnable fur! :-)

The farm where I get my grass fed “stuff” (pastured chicken eggs, too) just had their first calf born - a little early, but it’s fine. The fields will be full of new life soon - plants AND baby animals! :-)
My niece used to foster lambs that were orphaned or the moms rejected them, for someone who went to our church & raised sheep. He knew which kids to approach, so the next thing my brother & his wife were hearing after a spring church service was “Mom, dad, can we PLEASE PLEASE take some lambs home?” My niece & SIL got sick one year (24 hour intestinal bug sort of thing) & my brother actually came home at lunch to bottle-feed lambs on his lunch break.
The first time my niece fostered lambs (she did it for several years), returning them to the flock was heart-wrenching. The lambs, of course, considered her their ‘mama’ & were standing at the fence crying for her, after they’d been put in the field with the other sheep - the lambs were totally uninterested in the sheep, they wanted ‘mama’. The lady who owned the sheep said “don’t worry, in an hour, they’ll be in with the flock”. What they found ‘worked’ (better for them than the lambs) - drop the lambs in the pasture with the other sheep, run for the car & speed away so they didn’t start crying along with the lambs! We all sort of miss those “lamb days”.
That is disheartening, isn’t it? Even when you try to Shop Local, you’re not always safe!
