Washingtons Department of Transportation posted a series of photos on Twitter last week claiming a potential Sasquatch sighting near a highway at Sherman Pass.
A webcam placed by the department in the states remote northeastern corner captured a shadowy figure resembling what appears to be a person, or Bigfoot, or just a tree trunk with an oddly humanoid figure.
The following day, a crew of workers clearing snow in the area stopped by the cameras location to see if they could spot anything out of the ordinary. However, if a Sasquach had been there, it apparently made a fast get away before crews arrived.
Contrary to popular belief, it appears this Sasquach sighting may be explained by a simple mind trick.
See, a screenshot from the very same camera taken earlier in the month also reveals something Squatchy lurking in the same spot:
Tom Sherry ✔ @KREMTomSherry Sherman Pass in Northeast Washington has snow covered road. Be very careful traveling in mountains. More snow is on the way. #KREMweather
However, screenshots taken from over a year ago dont seem to show the same suspicious figure at the location:
So whats the deal?!
After receiving some backlash from naysayers online, the department stated there is much more to this story and they plan to reveal more details in the near future:
In other words, somebody knows something we dont, so well be checking back in the next few weeks to get the scoop.
Meanwhile, the person tasked with running the departments Twitter account for the highway at Snoqualmie Pass shared additional footage of a man trekking through some harsh weather conditions.
Or was it Sasquach?
Like we said, well be keeping an eye on this and will update you once the real story is revealed. Until then, lets hear your best guess as to what this could be possibly be.
Leave your guesses in the comment section below..
Little johnny and his box of crayons
I know people (several) in a Pennsylvania neighborhood who say they see these things all the time.
The first photo of the guy by the trees had several photos. Pretty sure it is a guy (with a hooded jacket, but the hood isn’t being worn, so it forms a “hump” on the back.)
The second photo - the original is dated to August or something. They edited it to show it as a negative - so it looks like snow - but is really grass.
This is WSDOT having fun and creating interest in their cameras.
I’m in Washington state. Although I have never seen one, I’ve heard some stories from credible folks - “I want to believe”.
The one was a guy that cancelled on helping me with some work. He was a forest service guy. But on his day off (when he was going to help me) had to go down with some University guy to check out a sighting of a bigfoot and get some hair samples.
Okay - he might have just made up a huge excuse to not work, but I doubt it. So some lady calls about a bigfoot, and the state sends two people on a 6 hour drive round trip to investigate?
Although like I tell my kids - I hope that they never find bigfoot. Then it will be just some rare ape, and not the thing of myth and lore.
The panda bear was once considered much like bigfoot - part man, part bear by the Chinese. Full of myth and mystery. I think it was in the 1800’s when it was finally “discovered” by white men - and yes - it’s just an animal.
One of my kids’ favorite books that I would read to them was a goofy story about a Bigfoot that lived in lava tubes by Mount Saint Helens.
The Bigfoot rescues some kid lost in the forest, and I think the guy that hijacked the plane with the millions of dollars is also in that book. (Or at least his money is!)

Heh - I think this must be the book!
In Vietnam they talked about Rock Apes. There was a whole elaborate story about how a Marine Captain and his platoon had a run in with a bunch back in the mid to late 60’s. Yeti’s, Sasquatch, Chupacabra’s and Black Panthers, figments of one’s imagination.
“I know people (several) in a Pennsylvania neighborhood who say they see these things all the time.”
There are claims they have been seen on the Mogollon Rim Mountains in Az also.
It *is* there in the previous picture. Only in the previous picture, there’s a snow-covered branch in front of it.
Snow makes for lousy shadows. Something (a tree) is there.
Yeah, it’s not like Michelle Obama has any relatives near Oregon...
Time to break out the costume again and start messing with the trail cams..
They all moved to Hollywood I tell you. They are making commercials.
The Patterson film from 1967 is still the best available.
