My take is simply John Bolton is out for John Bolton. Not all that different from your comment, I suppose.
Big disappointment. Back in the day, I thought he was the tough guy we needed at the United Nations. If he had quit at that point, I wouldn’t have had to write the first sentence of this post.
I haven’t heard those arguments that Hayes references. Bolton is a bitter and disgruntled employee who was fired. It’s about revenge.
After all the testamony some thick and obtuse people still can’t understand President Trump has done nothing at all that comes close to abuse of power or obstruction or any crime at all. Unfathomable that they’re so enamored with themselves that they are self-deluded by their own wishes.

The timing of Bolton's book, and Bolton's silence when the New York Times started reporting about his book tells you all you need to know about his motivations. It seems like the $2 million was enough for John Bolton to decide whatever societal or political damage he caused was not important compared to the money.

I have heard the exact same comment from the left when one of our RINO’s speaks out against Trump. So interesting Stephen Hayes uses the same line. Never Trumpers have shown themselves to be more in line with the left all along. As for Bolton, he lobbied Hannity and others to get that job and so all who helped him get the job have been betrayed along with Trump. Hannity asked him if he realized his foreign policy is not the same as Trumps and could he work for Trumps agenda. He said yes but I am sure he believed he could influence Trump once he got on the job. He has done more harm to himself showing how small he is than anyone he betrayed.
