Of course not! Because, y'know, it might actually work.

For years, I've used hot lemon and honey to fight off a sore throat. At the first sign of a tickle, I drink a mugful. I imagine adding whiskey, making it a hot toddy, would really do the trick.

My mother made cough syrup—whiskey, lemon juice, honey and rock candy. Burned all the way down the throat—and then no more coughing and no trouble sleeping. LOL
