The surveys will go through without a donation but they don’t make that obvious.
I have been in some loops with them that didn’t seem to go through without a donation. I just closed those screens out immediately.
Sometimes I went on their website and ranted at them about that.
I have ranted to them at their incessant begging habits. For those of us on very limited incomes, it is insufferable, annoying, off-putting. They need to filter such things intelligently. Why would they want to anger & put off their base who may have managed a small donation once by really stretching things. GRRR.

Good Grief. You said you didn’t read the darn article. I did read it twice. That twitter conclusion/headline is not what the article from the Medical Journal had to say at all.
When you have a cold, and stay home from work, then feel better and go back to work, but are still not 100% over it, even if not coughing and sneezing—you are not recovered.
The article said patient 1 felt better-it didn’t say he had recovered. Do you understand the cycle of a cold or flu virus? Feeling better and being Asymptomatic is NOT recovery. Your body in some illnesses will continue to shed contagious substances even after your symptoms are gone as part of the recovery to get rid of the foreign stuff.
And even after you recover from a cold, later on you may get another cold—you don’t necessarily have immunity like you do with measles. Understand? Just think of it as a worse than usual cold and like the regular flu.

Maybe, could be, possibly, in theory. Maybe he just had a fat finger and then needed to get to bed too and we will see a correction in the morning.
In the event of such a situation. It is more likly that we will need to prepare to educate those around us that are listening and aren’t prepared. If you are have been on FR for any bit of a while, one should have learned from the various fantastic and knowledgeable preppers. Archive stuff worth printing that may save you and or your family and friends. Pray you never need it.

I agree the largest task would likely be to steady and support those who are unaware and will be hardest hit but disruptions, even small ones because of the unknowns involved. I have to pray about how best to steady my friends and neighbors who appear to be among the indoctrinated. If not this week, somewhere down the road when the truth surfaces, they will be shell shocked; they’ve become convinced he’s deadly, Hitler etc. Perhaps I can try writing something, and over the coming days, improve it? I can’t hope to turn them 180 degrees, but if I can at least take the edge off, and involved them in useful activity, it will be better than watching them panic. Prayers up for the best possible outcome - yet another victory like Richmond, VA! :D

Note that Patient 1 has a high viral load and is described as convalescent—meaning not fully recovered. And the viability remains to be proven by means of viral culture—meaning they don’t know—they are theorizing.
However, the high viral load is such that they think that there could be prolonged shedding after recovery—they don’t know yet. This is not unusual for a virus—it simply means that your body is going to continue getting rid of the foreign stuff.
When writing for the general public, I think the article should probably have used the term APPARENT RECOVERY, because I would not use the term recovered, if the patient is still contagious in any manner(too confusing).
Once the viral cultures are done, and they know the viability of the remaining virus-we’ll know more—Will sneezes and coughing still be contagious? Will it be only blood borne/bodily fluids/feces-whatever —maybe nothing or maybe something. TBD
However no where did it even begin to try to say that someone recovered and got it again. Which is what CJ’s comment was.

I agree that it remains speculative at this point, I’m just pointing out that they are speculating continued shedding after recovery.
I would assume that the person would be immune and not “catch it again” and that they would be less likely to give it to someone else after they recovered.
But there are diseases that don’t ever leave your system even after you beat them and sometimes they can be passed to others.
This may be one of those, or it may not.
My brother-in-law had an infection once that only had one antibiotic that was effective. After he had recovered sufficiently to go home, they told him that he would have to make sure to alert his Doctors and subsequent hospital intake people.
Anytime he was hospitalized there after, he had to be in an isolation room. I guess it’s similar to TYPHOID MARY. At any rate, to me he was never 100% recovered—he was just as recovered as the current system could provide.
And of course, there’s Maleria—similar I guess to what you are talking about.
With Cancer, they define a 5 year period of cancer free as being recovered, but plenty of people go ahead to have cancer again. So I guess the term recovered doesn’t always mean the same thing.
I always think of a virus such as this like a cold or regular flu—as a baseline of comparison. To me, one of the most concerning things is the long timeline of symptom free, yet contagious and spreading it around to others period of time.
That makes it more likely to spread and spread faster than regular flu or colds by comparison.
