SPRUCE PINE, N.C. A cat named Perdita may be the "worst cat in the world," but a social post by a North Carolina animal shelter made her one of the most sought-after felines in the world.
According to the rescue's Facebook post, Perdita has found her forever home after 175 adoption applications were sent to the rescue
The post said that after narrowing down the applications to the top 10, staff conducted interviews, checked references and had some interactions with possible future families.
Perdita chose her adopters after a successful meet and greet, according to the post.
The post said the "world's worst cat" will be leaving for Tennessee with her new parents Saturday.
I lived in an area with coyotes was afraid for her HOWEVER you are correct if they are feral it NEVER changes after 14 years with an animal you would think you could establish some sort of trust with the animal but it did not happen!!!
That’s wonderful!
Ha.
I adopted a feral MANY years ago LADY K was her name she showed up in my yard and I started feeding her after about a year I was able to get her into the house!!! She was the WORST cat I ever owned could get near her she would hide only came out to eat couldnt love on her or pet her I had the cat for 14 years before she passed and after ALL that time NOTHING ever changed!!!
Wrong it wasnt abused,it was raided in the wild AKA Feral Cat
You summed it up:
Adopted, you dont know where it came from.....
“the only one who could pet her without her growling”
Pets are not mean/bite/growl ect.
Your choice,IMO that aint a pet
I’ve got an 18 pound Maine Coon that is a rescue cat off the streets of Ogden, UT. Great cat, he’s a sweet boy. I don’t think he was out for very long, he didn’t act like a stray. A couple of years ago I was playing with him in my front yard and the neighbor’s dog decided to take a run at him, that went really badly for the dog.
All of my animals have been adopted.
And some came from homes where they were abused.
With patience and love they can turn around and be wonderful pets.
Jackson Galaxy, pick up the white courtesy phone!
No matter how much cats fight, there always seem to be plenty of kittens.
ABRAHAM LINCOLN
She needed lorazepam. ..it’s what our adopted feral gets...so he can be touched and picked up occasionally. So..next time...
That’s a very interesting story, and a good lesson in marketing psychology. Some people can’t say no to the obvious underdog.
Perdita = Lost in Latin.
How in the world did you get the pill into him???
This ‘fool’ has un-feralled many cats but maybe it was because none of them were ever treated badly by a human, not even trapped, so they really had no reason to fear. It takes a while to win their trust, but not as long or as painful as taming a wild parrot.
Coon Cats are great the best, love’em,no use for a Feral, none.
Coons are brutal but loving and not mean to their owners, house guest, kids or any one else.
Like a watch dog, best be announced if their is A Coon Cat inside
Best way is on a 22Short
I’ve had a couple of feral cats and they became really good cats once they started becoming domesticated. They really loved affection once they understood it.
was gone in a few days and good, cat sucked
Ive unferaled a cat ! It can be done. He is darling. Vicious, mean mother ~ two other kittens (calico colored ) found a home for them together. It took months to lure them to the backyard with food and finally touch them. Kept the boy, he is precious. Been INSIDE my house for two years. He begs for food on his back legs, sleeps in our bed, plays with our Bengal ( who was quite put-off at first !!!! ). We just love him, hes a doll baby. It took some patience, but, he has been a joy !
