Zero chance witnesses will be called.
Me

Posted on 01/28/2020 11:18:38 PM PST by bobk333

There is absolutely no way they will call witnesses.

The Swamp is totally corrupt. It has become worse than ever. (Read Peter Schweitzer’s new book.) They see nothing wrong with enriching themselves and their families by selling their influence.

The Senate, both Democrats and Republicans, is the most corrupt of all. They are unbelievably slick and sophisticated at it. All of the senators are doing, in some form, what Joe Biden did.

Isn’t it revealing that *no* senator — even Lindsay Graham, Marsha Blackburn, Rand Paul, or Bernie Sanders — has said they think Biden did anything wrong? Likewise, they will never talk about the corrupt acts of Hillary Clinton (including the Clinton Foundation) or Barrack Obama, who are part of the club, one of their own. They will go on Fox and argue that Trump is innocent and the impeachment is a farce, but they are totally silent on anything to do with corruption, especially when it comes to senators.

The Senate is too worried about being exposed to risk witnesses or publically digging any deeper into quid pro qui, or prolonging the discussion in any way.

Almost every vote in the Senate is planned, pre-determined with great priority on how every senator will look to their constituency. They have all literally committed to protect each other, above all else, which means hiding the incredible level of corruption. (Elizabeth Warren crosses the line by criticizing Bernie.)

There is zero chance witnesses will be called.

I usually don’t respond vanity posts but yours is very perceptive and cuts to the heart of the matter. You are absolutely spot on when you accuse Republican senators of failing to call out their “august colleagues” in “the world's greatest deliberative body” as those ugly rejects from every sports team or drama club call themselves. Have you ever looked at pictures of these ass clowns? They look like refugees from the Island of Misfit Toys. To anyone in the federal government of any consequence please note that regular Americans are watching you and we’re not at all impressed with either you, your asinine ideas, or the turgid drek that spills out of your misshapen heads when you lie to the cameras.

Partner, LMAO.

The gov'mint in D.C. is so corrupt right now after that "America Hating Piece of Work Obama" 8 long years as POTUS. W. was not that good of a POTUS either.

Bolton and both Bidens are private citizens.

Bolton is subject to Trump’s Executive Privilege, however.

All of Schiff’s staff need to be called. They likely don’t have the security clearances required to hear what the Whistleblower was sharing with them.

What kind of a scam is voting on Witnesses anyway? If a person is to put on their defense then they call the witnesses they want. The fact that Witnesses need to be voted on is a scheme in itself.

Good point. Bring that up if you’re ever on trial:

- Your Honor, the witnesses that have appeared against me were never properly voted on. Mistrial!

Joe Biden is a Club member.

Always a Senator.

There is no combination of events in the Universe that would get these cowards to call Joseph Biden.

If the weak RINOs in the Senate somehow only vote for (D) witnesses, Trump will be all over them. This isn't 20 years ago. Trump has Twitter and his massive rallies to get word out.

The RINOs know this and they know its literally impossible to convict him and have him removed from office at this point. Zero percent chance they force him out 9 months prior to this election.

Any RINO that voted along those lines knows damn well they will be primaried.

There are only 2 outcomes at this point.

Trump is acquitted. Or, each side gets witnesses.

If Trump's team says these are not impeachable offenses, and yet McConnell lets the Republicans vote for witnesses, isn't that really the all-powerful McConnell de facto rejecting the President's argument?

Why waste the Senate's time with witnesses when the charges aren't impeachable in the first place?

A vote for witnesses is a rejection of the Trump team's core argument. Why would McConnell want to allow that?

The latest is a plan by the Republicans to present a package of witnesses that the Dems are going to vote against. That will trash the entire effort to get witnesses. From the Fox News piece, if a witness package passed, the resolution could be written such that the witness phase of the trial ends immediately if a key witness, such as Hunter Biden, defies his subpoena. This plan has been led by McConnell.

True, but will there be enough Congress critters with the ethical fortitude to make that happen? Not so sure...

It does appear they are all in this together, sharing in the graft and corruption, on both sides of the aisle.

They want Trump gone...he has exposed them all..democrats and republicans..

Not one senator will vote to convict...

But if we drag this out for two more months...

Maybe we can tank Trumps poll numbers..

But does the Senate have authority to issue a subpoena?

The House didn't authorize subpoena as a whole body...Nancy just said do it.

And what about the McConnell trip wire:

The Impeachment ‘Kill Switch’: McConnell Dismissal Rule Corners Democrats, Blocks Antics as Trial Commences

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is as of now including in the U.S. Senate impeachment trial rules a “kill switch” that effectively allows for the president’s legal team to seek an immediate verdict or dismissal of the case should Democrats engage in any shenanigans like they did in the House process.

You’re delusional. With every passing day Trump’s popularity grows. Even some FReepers who are pathological malcontents whining for three years that Trump would be thrown out of office by Democrats and RINOs are starting to change their tune.

These dopes in Washington have completely misread the political landscape. Trump supporters are outraged that foreign countries like Ukraine get even one penny from U.S. taxpayers ... and these @ssholes in Congress and the media are trying to throw Trump out of office for trying to WITHHOLD money from Ukraine? LMAO.

They also underestimate how powerful the forces are who back the President. These allies of the POTUS are capable of destroying each and every traitor in this government.

I read about the “Kill Switch,” before the Senate took the articles of impeachment. I think it is one of several traps the Dems have before them.

I am looking forward to the question phase, starting today. The Dems don’t like fact-based evidence and their reaction will sink them deeper with the American public as Trump’s lawyers bury them with the facts. “All we want are the facts, ma’am.”
