Well, not defending the reporter, but he was probably referring to all the other senators who have grown children who drink from the public trough or are lobbyists. My senator (Roy Blount) and his kids have become rich.

He was the mouthy guy bullying a speaker and got in a chest puffing contest, in the Rose Garden, with Gorka, if it’s who I believe it is. Do you remember him?
This guy always stood in Sarah Huckabee press briefings and filibustered with his q&a. A huge whiner for illegal immigration. Always thought he was Mexican with illegals as problem family, in the way he bawled his objections. His name suggests he’s any thing but.
He reports for Playboy Mag and some other lefty outhouse. He was named yesterday on a conservative site. Sorry, my report is so shaky, but this is the guy.
Shame would require morals and principles.
Cruz should have answered, “My children are 9 and 11. And yes, any politician who has family members who have gotten rich off their connections to the politician SHOULD be investigated!”
It would make him mighty unpopular among the other politicians, though.

Yes, I voted for him. I will never vote for a Democrat ever for anything. Just hope he retires so we could get another Josh Hawley to represent Missouri.
