Did you notice WHO didn’t declare a pandemic July after the virus had already pretty much ran it’s course in Canada?

And it follows that the number who died as a result of the virus is very difficult to know.

Dead is dead: not the same at all.
Yeah, December numbers could be fudged, some. Later death numbers it was too risky to fudge.
They can’t afford to get caught.

Dead is dead.
Infected is iffy.
They can’t risk exposure. That’s the only reason they have to be honest- to a point.
They didn’t worry about exposure during the SARS epidemic.

Official estimates are several hundred to 1,000 were killed.
This report says the number was more like 10,000 killed.
I’m afraid the Chinese govt’s reporting on coronavirus exposure/death is just about as accurate.

I am suggesting that with a limited number of hospital beds, there have been more turned away and NOT tested.
As much as I would love to bash the CCP, I think they might just not have accurate numbers. The problem is that many of the deaths will not be counted. They will be marked pneumonia, and cremated.
The whole Asian culture of saving face and not wanting to admit one is wrong, or tell somebody else that they are wrong is probably at play here too.
Like a child spilling the sugar everywhere and trying to hide it from mom by sweeping it under the cabinet.

I don’t think the trustworthiness of the Chinese government is one of those things. We’ll find out eventually.
