I doubt that it is transmitted through the skin, unless one has an open wound. I’m guessing the brief post means that you can shake someone’s hand or touch a surface with the virus, and then put your hand on your nose, eyes, etc.

Temporary closure of LCSD facilities from tomorrow

To tie in with the response level under the “Preparedness and Response Plan for Novel Infectious Disease of Public Health Significance” being raised to Emergency Response Level and avoid people from gathering, the Leisure and Cultural Services Department announced today (January 28) that the following LCSD cultural and leisure facilities will be temporarily closed from tomorrow (January 29) and recreational, sports and cultural programmes held at these venues will be cancelled until further notice.

Land sports facilities and aquatic facilities temporarily closed include all sports centres, sports grounds, grass pitches, artificial turf soccer pitches, tennis courts, squash courts, bowling greens, golf facilities, public swimming pools, beaches, Tuen Mun Recreation and Sports Centre, water sports centres and holiday camps. Cultural facilities include all museums, performance venues, public libraries and their study rooms, mobile libraries, and music centres of the Music Office.

One more point:

I was in NC and there were no reported cases at the time so I didn’t even know what hit me. I flew in the Southeast for 3-4 days and after my last flight, I walked into the crew room and collapsed on a row of seats. If I remember correctly, I was unconscious for about 4 -5 hrs and when I came to, went home but didn’t remember driving. My roommate called my mother who flew up to take care of me.

If coronavirus is on par with the asian flu I had, buckle up. I lost major muscle mass - almost 25% of my total weight which was doable when I was young. Breathing was an issue and I didn’t even get pneumonia. If it happens now, you will know because this will be one of my last posts. I am recovering from a respiratory illness that went through my neighborhood- it wasn’t even that bad but I am very weak from coughing.

Our borders need to be sealed and we need to start making our own products for our own consumption. I saw that many of the surgical masks are made in China and all will be diverted for their use.

I updated maybe 10 min ago, and it shows 4474 cases and 102 fatalities. Still over 2% fatalities, nominally.

I predict we will have our first death in 6-10 days. The Chinese nurse said people get better then they relapse and die within a few days

The doctor in China who died was infected and 9 days later he died. He was not infected as he came out of retirement to help out.

Wait until people start dropping and events are cancelled and the economy really falters.

Pres Trump should have stopped all flights and people coming from China by now.

This could be his Waterloo.-what defeats his Presidency. After all what he has out up with the last 3 years.

Trump must demand our scientists go into China and monitor the situation. In the meantime stop all flights to and from China into the US, and we may even need to close the border to Canada, because of the number of Chinese nationals there.
