1 Dead, Several Injured in Bus Crash Carrying Covington Catholic Students Home from Right-To-Life Rally

One person is dead and several are injured following a head-on crash involving a charter bus carrying Covington Catholic students, Campbell County police said.

The crash happened around 7:20 a.m. Saturday in the northbound lanes of the AA Highway at California Crossroads in Campbell County.

According to witnesses on the scene, a southbound car somehow entered the northbound lanes of the highway, striking the charter bus head-on.

"I saw a car come across the median and head toward me," said Ricky Lynn, a witness who was also driving north. "I was able to get out of the way."

The driver of the wrong-way car was pronounced dead at the scene. That driver's name has not been released.

The driver of the wrong-way car was the only person killed.

Thankfully, nobody died on the bus. Not clear how serious the injuries are though. Very little information so far, as the crash happened only a few hours ago.

I think it was one bus in a 4 bus convoy, it was likely a drunk or medically disabled driver, or someone that saw Covington on the earlier buses who swerved into the lane. Odd that it was on the AA highway.

Wouldn’t be hard to do it all with an accomplice on a cell phone following the bus.

Probably had satellite technology tracking him and C4 in the car, with the driver's family in mortal danger if he didn't sacrifice his life in the quest to damage the schoolbus. Maybe a time-released poison capsule injected into his neck, where the organizers had the only antidote. Putin, most likely. Or Soros. Maybe MSNBC.

Many busses on Garden State Pkwy going to and from the AC casinos are Provosts. They also build motor homes. Very expensive, but well built top of the line stuff.

I think it’s the more recent body style — 2012 or later.

Looks like it has inexpensive aftermarket rims. Probably a younger driver.

Yeah I was thinking the rims looked like aftermarket.

That large driver door area is why I think it’s a Civic.

It’s certainly what the later model Civics have.
