The Commissioner for Human Rights in Russia, Tatyana Moskalkova, said that the condemned Israeli-American drug smuggler, Naama Issakhar, did not write an independent petition for clemency to the Russian leader. This is reported by Interfax .
She said that the girl is convinced that the appeal of her mother and the leadership of Israel is enough.
At the same time, the Ombudsman added that she hoped for a successful resolution of the situation and early release of the girl.
Moskvalkova also emphasized that Issakhar has no complaints about the conditions of detention: the camp's barrack has a refrigerator, TV, hot water and hygiene products. The Ombudsman assured that everything is in order with the girl.
It is also noted that Issakhar regrets the current situation and quickly wants to return to his homeland.
Issakhar received 7.5 years in prison for smuggling and possession of drugs. She was detained in the transit zone of Sheremetyevo Airport , the girl flew to Tel Aviv. She found 9.6 grams of hash, she said she transported it for personal purposes.

Let me see if I understand this.
The woman is in prison and has not much to do all day long, but is too busy to write a short note asking for clemency.
I think her IQ must be in the low teens.
I think she may have smoked so much dope she’s permanently a dope.
International travel, I better bring my drug stash. She chose poorly.
I think US consulate has something to do with this.
The official position is she was sentenced wrongly.
A plea for clemency seems like an unnecessary repentance to her.
All despite the fact she was caught with pot in airport and she doesn’t argue the fact but insists it is not criminal because the pot is for her own consumption.
Per Russian law it doesn’t make difference. Smuggling pot by itself is criminal.
They want to make a political prisoner out of thin air.
I’m not clear what is so compelling about this dope smuggler’s case. She sounds arrogant and entitled. I’m gonna take a wild guess that she’s hot.
9.6 grams of hash not just pot.
That’s true but now that is a sort of international incident.
Netanyahu believes he might use his leverage to free her but the problem is he is not a side of the case and his appeals aren’t even to trigger the review of conviction.
The girl basically has four ways out:
1. To serve the sentence which seems like okay with her but not nice for Netanyahu.
2. To have conviction overturned which is not going to happen because she is indeed guilty.
3. To have a parole but Russia has some weird system of early release. The terms of parole regarding to a felony like drug smuggling demands inmate serving to less than half her term before it is ever considered. Then the camp the inmate is serving term in has a right to sue the government in court for expelling the inmate from colony. The lawsuit usually consist the description of acts of the prisoner proving repentance and evidence to it. Usually it is a proof of paying a compensation to a victim, reading lectures to other prisoners about the benefits of lawful lifestyle, church attendance, fulfilling labor quotas and so on. If the lawsuit is okay and nobody objects the judge grants early release and the camp kicks the inmate out.
Repentance is the key element in it. No person arguing a sentence is eligible for parole so it doesn’t fit.
4. Presidential pardon. President generally might pardon everyone. Repentance is presumed but it is not legal requirement as in the previous situation. Netanyahu is not a person who are required to plea before Putin on it unless Netanyahu himself wants to be pardoned. To ask Putin for pardon is the easiest way out for a dolt but for some reason she it not doing. I think she is somehow hijacked by the left for a few reasons. First thing she wants to become a sort of social justice warrior for legalization of drugs. Secondary objectives are to portray Putin as a tyrant and Netanyahu as weakling.
I think there is a mistake in the article although she was coming from India and hash makes more sense. If it was 9.6 gramms of hash she wouldn’t get away with only 7 and a half years.
I can’t believe people are stupid enough to think you can go to a foreign country and have your home laws apply.
Well, I guess ole Pootie Poot might deem it unnecessary to pardon her.
Why not? One little dolt more or less.
This woman is lucky she’s in prison. If this arrogant nut would have smuggled dope into some Asian countries, she’d be on death row instead of a barracks with all the comforts of home.
I just do not have any sympathy at all for this idiot. If she were innocent, set up or some political pawn I’d have compassion. Near as I can tell based on her attitude and IQ, she’d be a great staffer for AOC or Pencil Neck.
