America is polarized, because government has become big enough to be worth a prize fighting over.

I saw this guy on Tucker Carlson’s show the other day. His premise is plausible. The Civil Rights act has been so over used by governments and courts that every one is at each other’s throat with their rights greater than anyone else’s.
The polarization is due to CNN and MSNBC mostly. Then you can add much of the rest of the media. They have gone crazy. And people seem to suck in every stupid thing they say. Even when it is 180 degrees from facts everyone agreed to, 1 year earlier.
I can tell you why.....Because we have become a nation and a people which tolerates the intolerable. For whatever our reasons , we are blowing it , big time.

I think social media is causing the ideological polarization. When you have electronic monitoring of every keystroke, there are those who are using that information to manipulate those who they have identified as open to their political indoctrination. These operatives are working social media for their political objectives.

It is really quite simple. I overheard a San Francisco democRAT stated stating, about the importance of elections, ‘if we don’t win, we don’t eat.’ The idea of hard work and saving money is anathema to these creepozoids.

First, Mike Allen and I coined the title “Age of Entitlement” in our 2014 updated edition of “A Patriot’s History of the United States: From Columbus’s Great Adventure to the Age of Entitlement.”
Second, no, the rift didn’t start in the 60s. It really started with the New Deal and it wasn’t racial, it was more “class” (I abhor that term) oriented with the notion that “gubment” could fix all our problems.
Third, it has been less about courts (note that even while upholding Obamacare, homosexual marriage, the USSC also was strengthening gun rights, reining in the commerce clause, and taking other “conservative” positions).

America is polarized because there is a huge spiritual chasm. About 1/2 of America is Godless, and the direction they want to take this country will never gel with the other half.
Theory? Who needs a theory?
Half of “America” is trying to burn the country down. Your choice is be “polarized” against the arsonists or to lay back and watch everyone you love burn to death.
