Society and culture assumes any success by either husband or wife during marriage is a JOINT achievement. For either husband or wife to achieve financial success needs the encouragement, cooperation and other contributions of the partner. My wife raised the kids and kept the house in good order while I was out making my million. So if I had a prenup, I can just ditch her when she has a few wrinkles and find a younger model by taking most of the money?
Prenup is for your money BEFORE marriage, not DURING marriage.
That is not what I said, but without a prenup you could work hard, her not, she spent all your money, bankrupted you, and you could have 30 years of alimony at $100k/year+ coming. Dont think shed do that? You have no idea what young women today are like compared to even a generation again and the temptations they have from all over. Prenups should be fair - they are more likely to hold up if they are, but going in without one is dumb if your IQ is over 115
So the housewife that is married to the guy making $50k a year gets no alimony but the one making $500k/yr gets $100-150k for at least half the # of years they were married. Why? Same job. Child support for first is $5-10k, its 25-50k for second. Why?
