Jayhawks' Silvio De Sousa suspended indefinitely for role in brawl with Kansas State

Kansas forward Silvio De Sousa has been suspended indefinitely for his role in the Jawhawks' brawl with Kansas State on Tuesday night.

The school did not reveal a specific length of De Sousa's suspension or additional punishment for any other player, citing its joint review with the Big 12 Conference.

"I have suspended Silvio De Sousa indefinitely pending the final outcome of the review by KU and the Big 12 Conference," Self said in his statement. "As I said last night, we are disappointed in his actions and there is no place in the game for that behavior."

Good! Last night proved the program is out of control. Self fought hard to remove DeSousa's suspension last year and this was his thanks. Self may not last much longer. Too bad, KU has had many talented players over the years that were worthy role models for younger players. I'm still proud to be a Jayhawk, but sad and disappointed today.

KU, fans, alum, etc. worship Bill Self!

Adoring basketball fans live for wins, so unless and until they begin losing, Self has a job at KU so long as he desires.

If De Sousa punched Bill Self, fans and alum would probably be conflicted which one to punish, if either!

Many of these players, they’ve been groomed to expect nothing and no one is preferred to them. That’s why they’re involved in shootings on a regular basis!

As KSU was who emptied thier bench to turn it from a technical to a brawl, I am waiting for Weber and the Big 12 to deal with “injured player Love in his black slacks and white shirt.

De Sousa deserves suspension for the folding stool alone but K-State took this over the top, IMHO.
