No. They may have cheated but you lost fair and square.
In the four ALCS home games Houston won in 2017, the Yankees scored a total of three runs! Sorry, you can’t be that pathetic on offense and blame your losing on sign-stealing.
The Dodgers claim they could have won if the Astros didn’t steal the signs of Yu Darvish and Clayton Kershaw. NEWSFLASH! The Astros said publicly right after the Series that Darvish was tipping his pitches and Darvish, when shown the videos agreed he was tipping his pitches. No technology needed.
Kershaw’s impotency in the postseason (not just against Houston and Boston) is reaching legendary proportions. So did the Nationals cheat too because they lit up Kershaw in the playoff last year? Justin Verlander is 0-6 in World Series play. Sometimes, in a short sample, it just happens.
Oh, and Sports Illustrated reported a story that as many as eight other big league teams were also using electronic means to steal signs. That’s 1/3rd of the league under a cloud of suspicion but, just like with steroids, MLB is making examples out of a few and letting the rest slide.
Not at all.
The Yankees lost the first two games in Houston by identical scores of 2-1.
If the Astros were cheating, stealing signs in those two games, then yes, sure it matters.
