I was not in HS at the time, only a kid but one of the reasons I loved this movie was the music but also the depiction of Southern CA during the time. It was like Tarantino had access to a time machine. Brought back a lot of good memories for me.

Boy you're so right about that!!!!

I recall back then you'd throw garbage out your car window, paper cups and Popsicle sticks on the ground...I mean you wince now if you'd see someone doing this.

Remember, then the younger generation came up with the "Don't Be a Litter Bug."

True. If only Tarantino could replicate the smog. Really bad during that time period

Yea he nailed it. I grew up 5 miles from Manson and his crew of miscreants. I had a friend who played in a band and had met several of them. Never Charlie he always sat in the car out side.

Anyway I really loved the ending.

You are seeing the old Southern California when it was still America. The 3rd world immigration tsunami that would change SoCal forever had barely started.

I had just graduated high school that year. Knew a couple of peripheral members of the Manson family before it became a murder cult.
