I recall back then you'd throw garbage out your car window, paper cups and Popsicle sticks on the ground...I mean you wince now if you'd see someone doing this.

Actually Lady Bird Johnson started that whole dont litter campaign. It was her thing. Highway beautification. Unfortunately Im old enough to remember when people would drive out into the country and toss trash. It seems so unthinkable but it was what happened.
I was just telling my son about this today (hes thirteen). Told him I remember when litter really was a problem and people did work together to fix it.
