At the urging of conservative advocacy groups, Republican legislators in more than a dozen states are promoting bills that focus on transgender young people. One batch of bills would bar doctors from providing them certain gender-related medical treatment; another batch would bar trans students from participating on school sports teams of the gender they identify with.
The proposed laws, if enacted, “would bring devastating harms to the transgender community,” said Chase Strangio, a transgender-rights lawyer with the American Civil Liberties Union.
He warned that the medical bans — now pending in Colorado, Florida, Missouri, Oklahoma, South Carolina and South Dakota and likely to surface elsewhere — could trigger suicides among young people yearning to undergo gender transition. […]
The bill recently introduced in South Dakota would make it a felony for medical providers to perform operations or administer hormone therapy to help minors change their gender. The Missouri bill would subject doctors to revocation of their license if they administered gender-reassignment treatment, and parents who consented to such treatment would be reported to child-welfare officials for child abuse.
“I cannot imagine what happens to transgender people if these criminal bans pass,” said the ACLU’s Strangio, a transgender man. “I don’t think we can possibly raise the alarm enough, because people are going to die.” …

The new bills target transgender youth the way a pair of boltcutters targets a person in chains.
Banning doctors from mutilating children is not targeting LGBT people. It targets doctors who would mutilate children.
I had trouble with this for some time. Then I realized that if you went back to sentence diagramming, as taught in middle school, you could remember it more easily (I almost said "make more sense," but that would have been very wrong).
Most of us would normally think of "transgendered > man", meaning that the verb "transgendered" had been applied to the object "man." An alternate diagram would be to take transgendered as a verbal being used as an adjective--i.e., a past participle. Why? Because in our Brave New World, if someone claims to be of a certain sex, that is their subjective reality, and imposed on you. So "transgendered man" means "Man, who is a transgendered woman." Here transgendered is an adjective describing a particular type of man.

This reminds me of the quote "Oh, what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive." Shoving an opposite sex wish (i.e., contrary to the XX or XY reality) down our throats also requires inverting the normal usage of the language.

It was diagnosed correctly by Masters and Johnson before they were censored. It happens when someone has an inferiority complex and thinks that if they were the other gender things would be different.
Life example: I was a very sensitive young boy and had a stuffed doggie that I would sleep with and played with my sister's friends. As I hit puberty, I started noticing girls for their facial look, figure, and emotional make-up. By 15, I wanted to kiss and neck with girls I thought I loved (still sensitive). By 17, I would do anything in a skirt, as if I would know what to do...ha.
I have since been the most heterosexual man there is. I'm 70 this month and the look, feel, and scent of a woman is still the most intriguing and glorious thing to me...other than a rib-eye steak. Kidding. I can't comprehend not being attracted to women. I ADORE women.
The people who should be targeted with bills are the ones convincing children to do this. It’s one of the more extreme forms of child abuse ever invented.

I don’t see the problem here.
“Transgender youth” as a phrase is almost an oxymoron. It’s always been true that young people - pre teens and teens as well - often undergo periods of doubt or sexual uncertainty, but come out okay on the other end. These vultures want only to grab them at their most vulnerable and permanently maim them for their own sinister purposes. And the doctors who go along with them deserve dire fates.
At the least it would hardly be promoted, and laws that in any was restrict this freedom and those who engage in it viciously attacked, nor those who oppose it be subject of vindictive punishment.
