Your posts are always so timely! I am in the process of sorting through my Grandpa’s extensive coin collection to get it organized and appraised.
Nothing of any great value - mostly sentimental. He put a lot of work into it. :)

The King further broke with tradition with the design of the coin. Historically, it is the custom that each monarch should face the opposite way to his or her predecessor when new currency is produced...Edward insisted on being depicted facing the same way as his father, King George V, because he preferred his left profile.Wow, wasn't he the wild, non-conforming rascal? Myself, I could never imagine being so bold as to break such an historic tradition.
