Unless they’re back, I think the Strategic Air Command was rolled into Central Command. The SAC of old and the Cold War no longer exists.
Sorta, kinda right...I was a part of the Command structure for the stand-down of SAC and the stand-up of USSTRATCOM. SAC, MAC and TAC (along with other MAJCOMS) went away and SAC assets were transferred to some of the newly created MAJCOMS, i.e the aircraft on missiles - - while the warheads and their missions stayed under the control of USSTRATCOM.
Interesting days back then.

No. SAC is now a Global Combatant Command - US Strategic Command. I work there in the J3. This happened at the gate I go through multiple times a day. The gate guards were on the ball, thankfully.
