It is hard to believe her husband Rod passed away 45 years ago! That’s a long time without your spouse. It sounds like she never remarried. RIP, Carol.

I spent 20 of my most favorite minutes with Rod one-on-one. He grew up on Bennett Avenue in Binghamton, in a Home that friends bought after the Serlings moved out. Rod even came to the Home while the Smith’s owned it and asked if he could come in and “look around” again. He was a good soul. She was his rock.

My Dad spent a lot of his career with General Electric in upstate New York. He was a huge fan of the GE-sponsored shows like “College Bowl”. Dad knew the host who was a GE guy. The company had a connection to Serling through “GE Theater.”

I think Rod Serling, Leonard Nimoy and Morgan Freeman had/have the best voices for narrating documentaries of all time. This in addition to their writing/acting talents.

I’ve been occasionally watching twilight zone reruns on Netflix or amazon. Interesting.

After watching our weekly episode of “Twilight Zone” I once remarked to my Dad, “That’s the fastest half hour on television.”
