Sanders, of Vermont, began to extend his right hand out towards Warren, but the Massachusetts lawmaker kept her clasped hands raised close to her torso as the two exchanged words.
The audio from CNN’s coverage had already been cut, but the seemingly tense moment followed a public rehashing in the debate of Sanders’ allegedly telling Warren that a woman couldn’t win the general election.
Sanders reportedly made the comment during a closed-door meeting between the two lawmakers in 2018, but he maintained during Tuesday night’s debate that it was “incomprehensible” he’d say such a thing.
Warren insisted that Sanders did utter the cutting remark — but said that she liked a woman’s odds of besting President Trump in November given their election records relative to the male Democratic candidates.
As Sanders raised his hand in a defensive gesture, billionaire hedge-funder Tom Steyer entered the exchange to put his own hand on Sanders’ back.
“I don’t know what they were saying,” Steyer told MSNBC. “Whatever they were going on between each other, I was trying to get out of the way as fast as possible.”

When is the debate?
Well, they’ll have a lot of time to cool their heels and reconnect when they’re stuck in the senate trial instead of being out campaigning
Don’t touch his hands there’s no telling where they’ve been. Wasn’t there a little poem about “ Lizzie Warren Had An Axe”? He might oughta be careful too. Group hug for losers is such a nice touch though.
Two people who were at the closed door meeting said Sanders did not say that, and Lieawatha is lying.
I don’t think they were Sanders supporters, either. Just not willing to lie for Lizzie. Will try to find it. Saw it this morning.
First post on Free Republic here. Funnily enough more than ten years ago back when I was 13 I was a Democratic Underground user. Ideologically changed quite a bit since then. My current focus is on performing thorough analyses of electoral politics, and...I do have to say that I am now *confident* that the nominee will NOT be Lying Liz. She has not only tumbled down far from her peak during the summer when it seemed like she would be the favorite and had the potential to oust Biden, but has squandered any hope of winning back the people who ran back to Bernie. The race is now effectively between Feeble Joe, Backstabbed Bernie, and Booty Judge.

Agree with Laura Ingraham tonight. Warren will never be President. She should just drop out and agree to be Bernie’s VP.
