I wish God would save us from our foolish mistakes and rid this planet of disease, it’s just all so awful
White kids can most assuredly be punks.
I’m not talking about nanny codes, just securing your own home from intruders, and avoiding liability for “attractive nuisances”. My house has no un-closable openings big enough for a human to get in (otherwise we’d be full of bears, squirrels, raccoons, possums, mice, and who knows what).
I did too. Jumped off a lot of roofs...a few times with an umbrella. I’m really surprised I survived my childhood and was terrified when I had two boys-remembering what I did as a youngster.

I have been following this story since he went missing and am heartbroken over what happened to him. He was a good kid with parents that couldn’t be bothered to report him missing for nearly two days. He had told his mother he wasn’t feeling well and wanted to stay home but she couldn’t be bothered to get her ass out of bed and check on him, automatically said no through a closed door. When the school called to report him absent, she ignored the call. Apparently, he tried to get into the vacant house to hide out for the day. He had a youtube channel and people had gotten to know him thru his videos. RIP Harley.

Authorities initially thought Dilly may have run away from home because his family had said he would sometimes spend a night away from home when angry.

That is just heart breaking. I hope his mother lives a very long, very lonely life.
Likely became stuck and pushed his clothing out the flue in hopes that someone would see it and investigate.
He was too big to get through the flue himself.
Terrible way to go.

Besides, only Santa gets up and down all chimneys with ease.
Many twps/ctys do have such code; apparently this one didn’t, or during the rehab project, it was removed. Who knows?
Incredibly sad. I did so many crazy things as a kid, I am only here through God’s grace and luck. Prayers for his soul and his parents.
Something similar happened at Cornell University in 1993. A member of the senior class went missing during winter break. When members of one of the fraternity houses returned to campus they decided to light a fire. When they opened the flue, the missing student’s pants and shoes fell into the fireplace. The missing student, who was last seen in an extremely drunken condition, had died from asphyxiation from prolonged bending of the neck, according to the coroner’s autopsy report. The body was found about ten feet from the top of the chimney, which had to be partially disassembled to remove the corpse. The incident was reported in the New York Times and elsewhere. Terrifying and lonely way to die.

me neither. but i always had enough sense to not do things what would get me killed, like going down a chimney, stepping through rotten floorboards, etc.
