TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) The U.S. Department of Homeland Security is giving Kansas legislators extraordinary private briefings about undisclosed security issues.....
That is wild. I did check some local news outlets and they are reporting this too. One local TV station said this was routine but one lawmaker commented in his 40+ years in the Kansas legislature, he’s never seen anything like this. Also unusual was briefing the dems and reps separately. TBD. This is my state so thanks for the heads up.

You betcha. We are neighbors, so let me know of anymore information you can find out. I think the separate briefing sessions was to totally avoid the ability for anyone to get to the bottom of it with FOIA requests.
There’s also the unexplained drone flights that I haven’t seen an explanation for-could be related or maybe not. TBD.

The Department of Homeland Security held an unusual closed-door briefing to Kansas lawmakers on Tuesday that briefly cast a sense of 9/11-era uncertainty over the Statehouse.
One lawmaker said the briefing centered on contacts by individuals trying to gain access to technological and agricultural information.
Military personnel in unmarked white buses arrived shortly after noon to whisk House Democrats, and later Republicans, to Forbes Field in Topeka, an installation maintained by the Kansas National Guard. Senators will receive their briefing later this month. (continued at link)
