With the college football world descending on the state of Louisiana for the College Football Playoff title game, the folks over at LSU realized there probably wasn’t going to be much learning taking place on campus in Baton Rouge early next week.
On Friday, days before LSU will face Clemson for the national championship at the Superdome in New Orleans, the school announced that it has canceled classes on both Monday and Tuesday.

So each student will be issued a rebate check of a couple hundred or so dollars to compenate for forfeited tuition income, right? < s >

and hangover management
Priorities.
Only one of my kids did the full four year college route. He went to a small school that focuses on academics, not sports.
Their only sports was an intramural Frisbee team
I am thinking that it would be better to cancel classes AFTER the game.... just saying.
One interesting analytical aspect is the divergence between the Las Vegas line. LSU is a 5 and a hook point favorite but the ESPN FPI has Clemson a 55% favorite.

The LSU medical school is in New Orleans. I wonder if they got some days off.
Years ago I went to The medical school for a party. Those Cajuns really know how to drink.
Medical students in clinicals (3-4 year) don’t get days off, they are part of the working crew
LOL - I used to ask that every time of my son when the Univ of South Carolina would shut down for a few days when they got a dusting of snow or the roads would ice up!
How about giving extra credit for the students who show up? As was said earlier, they paid for the classes.
If it’s a State University, the taxpayers paid for those classes.
