LAUGHLIN, NEVADA- As Sundays mass ends, the priest says to his parishioners:
Dont forget to visit the bar on your way out!
No, hes not encouraging them to get drunk after church.
Father Charlie Urnick says this because hes giving mass inside of Riverside casino in Laughlin, Nevada.
The bar hes referring to is a table-bar that casino employees use as a bar to sell drinks at other (non-church related) events. But just before, during, and right after mass, its used to sell candles, medals, books, and other religious items.
Along with those, church-goers can find casino chips. While Father Charlie gladly accepts casino chips in the donation bin (as well as slot machine receipts), thats not the type he sells at the table. He designed special chips as a souvenir to visitors and as a fundraiser for the church.
On one side of the chip is a photo of Riverside casino with mass hours listed. On the other, it reads:
Pray with us. Its a sure bet.
Pro-police and pro-#2A?! This must not stand! Bergoglio will have to involve himself in such an intolerable situation. The errant priest must recant his views and instead profess his undying support for homosexuality and anthropogenic global warming.

Worth the click to read the whole thing. Thanks
I thought it was kind of cool because it is an unorthodox original out of the box concept. :)
He reflects the sentiments of Mohave county Az across the river from Laughlin, but plays to an audience who are mostly from L.A. Ca. And every little bit helps.
My Privilege, I like the out of the box concept. :)
An old Texas dance hall near me has a church service one Sunday a month. The old pastor that gives a talk begins with, “What would your preacher say if you told him you spent Sunday morning in a honky-tonk?”
That is pretty cool. A real southwest Church service. :)
Im glad you posted this article.
Thank You!
Always a privilege! :)
