Two teenagers have been charged after they allegedly posted an X-rated video on an interstate billboard in Michigan September 28.
Surveillance footage showed the 16-year-old from South Lyon and the 18-year-old from Sterling Heights in the doorway of the shed where the billboards controls were located, according to the Detroit Free Press.
The article continued:
Police received reports of pornographic videos being displayed on the electronic freeway billboard, located on the east side of I-75 south of M-59, about 11 p.m. By the time officers arrived, the videos had been playing for 15-20 minutes before being turned off, according to Auburn Hills Police.
The teenagers entered the space through a damaged fence that the sheds owners had failed to repair.
The billboard was operated by a laptop in the shed at the time of the incident as opposed to being operated remotely like most digital billboards, the report said.
Once drivers noticed the explicit images on the billboard, they called 911 to report it and also posted videos on Twitter.
However, Lt. Ryan Gagnon said he did not think the teens stunt was amusing.
Its just not that funny playing pornography on a billboard, he commented, adding, Could you imagine seeing something like that trying to focus on the road and you see this? It certainly could cause a distraction.
Authorities were able to identify the teenagers after they received multiple anonymous tips, according to the Macomb Daily.
This week, the 16-year-old responsible for posting the video was placed in a juvenile diversion program but will not face formal charges if he complies.
The 18-year-old was charged with misdemeanor trespassing because he reportedly did not enter the shed at the time of the incident.

Boy will be Boys!
The 18 y/o should have known better though.
When you graduate from High School, most people assume you’re an adult about the basic things.
They’ll laugh about this in the future, if they aren’t already laughing.
In the courtroom, they will probably be the quietest, nicely dressed, most polite young men you ever did see.
“Yes, Sir, I have absolutely learned my lesson!” to the judge
*snicker*
I’m sure they’re both having a good laugh at this one. I can easily see them both acting like they will never ever do it again when before the judge as well.
So nice that when someone from my hometown actually makes the news it’s for something like this. ;)
Absolutely hilarious. The closest I got was old-fashioned aerosol vandalism on a highway bridge.
Also: Alter idea, exchange porn for politics. Post a political ad.
Most of my prime mischief-making years were consumed by chronic illness and dialysis, so when I hear stories like this, I try to think of it as living vicariously. Hearing stories of my Dad and his friends disassembling and reassembling a VW Bug in a small gym as their senior prank lifted my spirits, especially because I went to that school. They had to take it apart to get it out, and they didn’t do it neatly. Another class had three pigs, numbered them, “1”, “2”, and “4”, and let them loose in the school. The admin spent the entire day looking for pig #3.
Ah, mischief.
What’s funny about this, aside from what they did, is that its a new type of mischief. I call it “evanescent vandalism.”
The “damage” can be fixed by reloading a file. There’s no paint defacement or physical destruction. Sure, it costs a little to send someone over to clear memory, reload the desired advertisement, and put a lock on the door. But, societally speaking, this seems like less of a crime to me than taking a dump on the streets of San Francisco.
A lot less destructive than spray painting graffiti. Hey, they provided entertainment to the public.
...its all crinkly. ..craggly. ....look away Jerry. ...Im hideous. ...
Who told you to put the balm on?
Life is good when I see your posts. ..
