CNN has agreed to pay $76 million in backpay as part of a record settlement with the federal labor board after the cable television network terminated the contracts of unionized camera operators in 2003.
The settlement is the largest monetary remedy in the National Labor Relations Boards 85-year history, the agency said in a statement Friday. The settlement will benefit more than 300 people, officials said.
The settlement demonstrates the boards continued commitment to enforcing the law and ensuring employees who were treated unfairly obtain the monetary relief ordered, General Counsel Peter B. Robb said in the statement.
The NLRB said CNN ended its contract with a unionized subcontractor, Team Video Services, and then replaced the workers with new employees without recognizing or bargaining with the two unions that had represented the TVS employees.

After more than a decade of litigation, negotiation and appeals we are pleased to have resolved a longstanding legal matter, a CNN spokesperson said.
First Nick Sandmann and now this.
They are just writing the big checks!
Pretty bad week for CNNs Errors and Omissions Insurance provider.
Dont panic, CNN. If you are not doing so already, start charging the Democratic National Committee for spreading their lies and propaganda.
In a few short weeks you should make enough to pay off this settlement.
I wonder what the settlement for that kid was.
The DNC is flat broke.
CNN...they broadcast fake news but pay out real large sums of money.
CNN better hire someone to salvage their business if they wanna survive, as they are gonna go bankrupt- losing lots of viewers ANd having to pay large settlements because of their blind hatred and bias- not a winning strategy

...starting with the lawyers.
This surprises me. I don’t know the ins and outs of running a TV network or news programs, but, it surprises me that a liberal network would have terminated a union contract. Liberals run CNN, and liberals love unions. Yet they terminated a union contract for employees who worked at CNN.
Liberals cheating people? Hmm... that does not seem possible.
Keep bleeding those bucks CNN. No one watching you outside of an airport. Where are they getting the money?
“This surprises me.”
i’m assuming you’re not being sarcastic and are genuinely surprised, but you shouldn’t be: leftist outfits are not only hypocritical about everything they say, but everything they do ... no surprise here at all ... same with not being surprised that for decades Hollywood movie and TV producers have fled the regs, unions, taxes, and anti-biz environs of california for friendly places like the state of Georgia and Candada ...
The channel that prides itself on its leftism, which technically should include regard for American “workers” (but only as long as they are in unions) reveals that it support for them ends with actually spending money for their benefit.
CNN is haemhorraging. Pray let it continue.
Liberals love unions that are afflicting someone else’s business.
