Rome died, so too will Europe for the same reasons, unless they see their defilement. What is the chance of that?

“Rome” as in the Roman Empire declined (didn’t die) for different reasons:

Western half:
1. Economic: the Western half declined because it didn’t set up a strong economic base, because it was subject to hyper-inflation and because the army was constantly promised larger salaries leading to debasement of the currency.
2. Civil strife - the Empire divided with Britannia/Gaul forming the Gallic Empire and the rest.
3. Not successfully co-opting the Germanics. The Germans adopted Roman culture and language readily, but were not co-opted effectively (look at Spain and France, both conquered by Germanic tribes yet within a few generations they spoke a Latin-based dialect and were Latinised heavily in culture)

East:
1. Religious strife - this caused the Semitic and Egyptian parts to break away and later support their fellow Semites, the Arabs. Also, the persecution of Jews led to Jews supporting the Arab armies

2. Economic - Egypt and North Africa were the economic hubs of the Eastern Empire. Losing them was a blow

3. Internecine wars with Sassanid Persia that sapped both empires

The roman Empire continues on today - Legally and culturally European and Russian cultural systems are based on and continuations of Rome
