He was Peart near dead, shortly before dying.
With apologies and condolences to Rush fans.

Kind of a shock. Brilliant lyricist and drummer.

Shocking...i saw Rush in 1977 when a band named AC/DC with a lead singer named Bon Scott warmed them up..always admired his drumming...his politics was another thing altogether..

I’m used to reading about dying rock starts. But this one really hurts. Peart was special in many ways.
To: Rastus
Wow. Shock. Not that old.

One of the best drummers ever.
Rush made some great music.

Yeah, he started out on the right but drifted to the left as he got older. He was a cranky guy. Id say hes now reunited with his daughter and wife, but then I consider his staunch atheism.

Excellent! So there’s a job opening for me? I’ve got ‘Tom Sawyer’ down pat! ;)
RIP, Man. Thanks for the memories. ;)

Damn. Guess us 50+ people need to get used to this. 3 years to the day from Bowie.

Read the lyrics to Red Barchetta and let me know what you think. Neil sounded like a libertarian and someone who valued freedom. Thats Good enough for me
To: Mama Shawna
Not that it matters, but the family held back his passing, so Neil actually died on the 7th.

Yeah, he started out on the right but drifted to the left as he got older. I am seriously starting to wonder if there isn't a link between brain cancer and drifting extreme left. I've seen it 4 times now.

2112 was basically an opera built around Ayn Rand’s novella ‘Anthem’.

Did he not know his condition? Or did he and the band successfully conceal it? Puts the RUSH40 tour and the decision to disband into better perspective if they did. ...Or at least if he did.
