Surveillance footage from outside Jeffrey Epstein’s cell during his suicide attempt was destroyed, prosecutors revealed Thursday.
The revelation in a letter filed by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Maurene Comey and Jason Swergold is the latest head-spinning disclosure from the feds about the footage from the Metropolitan Correctional Center on July 22 and 23. Epstein attempted to hang himself that night while sharing a cell with accused quadruple murderer Nick Tartaglione, officials have said.
Swergold initially said last month in White Plains Federal Court that the video had not been preserved. He reversed himself less than 24 hours later, saying it had been archived.
Now, the feds say that due to a record-keeping error, MCC staff preserved footage from outside the wrong cell.

Considering all of the “mistakes” surrounding the Epstein “suicide”, the FISA affidavits, the whistleblower and his buddy the IC IG, etc., it continues to astound me that anyone, anywhere expects the federal government to do anything right (or honest).

I tend to believe Barr, but this is disturbing. Maybe the issues surrounding Epstein are just too hot to handle?

Keep an eye on any updates on this guy Tartaglione. He was under indictment for a quadruple murder, and last March prosecutors stated that they were seeking the death penalty in his case.

they are running actual TAPE? that they over write a physical tape every 24hrs?
they don’t save this digitally? They don’t archive/ back up?
I find this very hard to believe. Or, unbelievable actually.
they HAVE to save video digitally and then archive it and back it up so that they could go back months to look at videos. watch for bad activity, contraband changing hands, inappropriate or repeated unexplainable interaction with Staff, etc.
[This is how confident they are of their their power. They’re not even being subtle about it.]

It’s pretty disgraceful. I know Epstein was a very bad man, but there’s nothing he’s been accused of that was punishable by death.
