My favorite SNL skit with Buck Henry was when he and Dan Aykroyd showed us what ‘really happened’ during the 18 1/2 minute missing minutes in the Watergate tapes.
Sadly I cannot find it on youtube but if you scroll down to “Blind Ambition” you’ll get a sense of it:

I still remember (which is not shown here) Buck dancing around with a lampshade on his head during those silent minutes...

“Buck kept the censors busy on Get Smart. There are a lot of allusions in the scripts that you know were raunchier the first time through.”
________
Same with I Love Lucy. I was watching an episode a while back and about fell out of my chair. Can’t remember the details, but I was surprised the censors didn’t catch it.

Mrs. jimfree recalls the night when she had to choose between the last episode of The Prisoner and the Get Smart episode that would have Max proposing to 99. As it was well before the days of DVR or even home VCRs, she had both shows going on in different rooms of the house.

My favorite Buck Henry SNL skit series was with John Belushi in the "Samurai" skits. Samurai Delicatessen, Samurai Optician, etc.

I recall Buck having the girls in short dresses sit on the glass-topped coffee table while he took pics from underneath, and having them bring him used panties so he could guess which girl wore them.
It was pretty edgy, maybe Biden did help him with those story lines.

LOL. Uncle Roy the perverted babysitter skits.

I recall Buck penning an op-ed regarding the loss of the staple...

I always liked Buck Henry. I read some of his books way back in the 1970s; he wrote rather well, in a conversational style.
He had a brief role in the classic 1960s film “The Graduate,” in which he played the hotel desk clerk.

She was, indeed. Yes, she has MS now; so very sad.

I believe he was also the chief writer for “Get Smart!”.

That was her in the Steve Martin short film. It wasn’t an SNL skit.
