Shantika Briley was arrested on Wednesday for allegedly beating a man with a pipe when he reportedly sexually assaulted her 9-year-old daughter.
The 35-year-old Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, mom said she caught the presently unnamed 39-year-old man “licking her daughter’s lips and trying to kiss her.” Briley allegedly responded with a pipe, beating the man in the head and face until he fled out the front door with Briley still in pursuit.

Briley has been charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, and harassment but was released after posting a $25,000 bond. As of the time of this writing, she has yet to retain legal counsel. No criminal charges have been filed against the unnamed man, but Briley claims he is being investigated.

I was thinking the same thing, until the article had “...unnamed 39-year-old man...”
So, I figured it was just one of Old Joe’s relatives.
After thinking about it for a bit, I believe that the press is attempting to make people jump to conclusions as part of a larger goal of asserting that people who use weapons in self defense often are people who jumped to conclusions about someone.

The cops took her into custody from the guy’s home and the press never even asked him (or his neighbors) any questions.
Agreed. Opinions on this short and short on detail article should begin with the phrase “assuming the facts are accurate”.
I have a psychopathic female extended relative with a two year old who would set up something like this with absolutely no compunctions if she wanted to stick it to a man. Where did she learn to do something like this? From her mother who would hit herself in the face and then call the police and say her husband did it.
