The cancer treatment industry is huge. If patients keep needing treatments rather than get cured, there is very like a $$ incentive.

My wife died of cancer. Her treatment costs were in excess of $40,000 per month. For 11 months. My insurance paid every month without a quibble. As long as insurance companies are willing to pay these outrageous bills what cures exist will never be released unless they're forced out by the government. And I'm absolutely certain there are cures that we can only now imagine.

Condolences on your loss, and the suffering she went through.

Cancer treatments (not often cures, but sometimes they manage) are a huge, huge business.
