After delivering a scorching opening monologue at the Golden Globes on Sunday, Ricky Gervais rounded out the ceremony by laying into the room of Hollywood insiders for their complicity in the Harvey Weinstein scandal.

Bringing Sandra Bullock on stage to announce the final award, Gervais said, “Our next presenter starred in Netflix’s ‘Bird Box,’ a movie where people survive by acting like they don’t see a thing. Sort of like working for Harvey Weinstein.”

After the crowd erupted in boos, Gervais replied, “You did it! I didn’t, you did it!”

LOL!!! Must be nice for Gervais to be in a position to have nothing to lose and let these Hollywood elite have it. He played the role of the Holy Fool or Court Jester.

I loved Afterlife. I’m glad Ricky is not a Moon bat.

A better crowd of people would have hung its head in shame. But then a better crowd of people wouldn't harbor sexual predators like Weinstein.

Gervais lectured the entertainment industry elites who sanctimoniously lecture everyone else — and they didn’t like it. The irony is sweet.

I’m left to wonder if something bigger is going on here. I find it hard to believe that Gervais just decided to rip these people with no backing, effectively committing professional suicide. Unless...

The Hollywood powers are beginning to take notice that the left is more and more unhinged. That people like Elizabeth Warren would do more harm than good. That President Trump is very likely going to be president until 2024. So, whether they agree with what Gervais said or not, they gave him the green light in an effort to give the appearance of pulling back.

It’s all about making money.

All I know about Rickey is what see in this thread and an appearance he made doing Letterman's Top Ten List. I think I could come to respect this guy!

He did the same gimmick/mocking the industry hard at the 2016 Golden Globes, made a quick splash and back to the usual "programming"/Hollywood politics as usual. This is the industry just trolling for viewers/trust.

The Donald can be credited for encouraging people to expose liberal pretensions.

And they say that the Donald should tweet less.

It was amazing to see, he said they shouldn't lecture anyone because they have less education than Greta Thornberg - LOL. I wanted to slap the puss off the face of the actor who played Forrest Gump.

Hollywood’s dirty little secret. Spouting off about their causes and politics is a convenient smokescreen that hides what they really care about.

Was that a glass of beer in front of him. It looked like it had a head on it?

Loved it, he was shredding people lol. He kept saying, “my FIFTH time, you people keep having me back, I don’t care, it’s my last time, I do not care.”

Everyone involved knows and expects him to do this. At something like the Oscars, no, but at the globes, where he kept walking out on stage with a beer in his hand, yep.

Thing is, none of it would be funny if it weren’t true. It’s funny because it’s true! That is what they all hate.

Yeah..... I'm not rushing out to see a Hollywood movie because they allowed one of their own to allegedly go off script to attract more of us.

He’s been doing it for 5 years in a row. His twitter is worse. Professional suicide doesn’t matter when you’re big enough and rich enough to produce your own content.
