I have IE 11 in both my PCs and am finding it increasingly difficult to use some websites . Even Facebook says that my browser will soon not be usable on that site . I don't want to install Windows 10 , so , to those who are still using Windows 7 , which browser do you recommend ? Any other advice ? Thanks in advance !
Let not your heart be troubled! Windows 10 is ok to use now.
I mainly use Opera as my main browser. You can add extensions for popups and other stuff. All is free.

I find that Brave works fine with Facebook...even with “Shields Up”. And FR has the chance to get some BAT crypto donations!
I agree, Windows 10 is a fine operating system.
But if you really hate to upgrade, why not use the Chrome Browser?
Get Chrome. Any other decent browser uses the Chromium engine.
Many Windows 7 diehards are facing the same dilemma. "Where do I go, now that Microsoft will no longer be supporting my most trusted OS?"
I've been thinking for a couple of years now, that I'd have to bite the bullet and finally make the switch to Linux. It was a scary idea for me, knowing that Linux isn't for the technically challenged.
I really dreaded the prospect of confronting what I imagined would be a huge learning curve, to become adept enough to download the basic package of parts, then build my own OS from them.
I feared it would be so far over my head, that I'd wind up succumbing to MS and 'upgrading' to Windows 10 anyway.
Fortunately, there are some technically savvy people on FR who really understand computer technology through and through. Freeper Openurmind saw me wringing my hands about another computer related issue and reached out to help me with my problem.
During the course of trying to restore my goofed up Windows 7 computer, he told me that we could much more easily handle the issue by switching my machine over to Linux. I was very hesitant to do it, but then he had me look at a site that showed what one of the current versions of Linux looks like, and how it operates.
I was surprised to see that it looked and functioned a lot like Windows 7, so I said, why not. I've got nothing to lose, seeing how 7 is about to go away anyway.
Long story short, we went through the steps and installed Linux side by side with my old Windows 7 operating system. What I most liked right away, was that there are so many similarities between the two operating systems, I was up and doing my usual tasks in no time at all.
If I had to quantify the similarities and differences, I'd say there's about 80% commonality between them and 20% difference,but the similarities are where it most counts - in the interfaces and tools that I use most. The differences are in areas that are the least important to me.
The version of Linux I'm now happily running, is called Mint Cinnamon 18.3. Talk to Openurmind about switching over. It's a free program, and it's waaaay more stable and secure than any Microsoft operating system. Takes up far less resources, too.
Sure, if you don't mind Microsoft virtually taking over your computer and only allowing you to do what they want you to do with it.
On top of that, it uses a gargantuan amount of resources, and 'calls home' to Redmond every few seconds to report your every keystroke and your browsing history.
Agreeing to their terms of service gives them permission to have full access to all of your files, and essentially puts them in complete control over your device.

I find that Pale Moon, Waterfox and Brave work well on Windows 7. Opera is now owned by the Chinese and Chrome has the Google influence so I personally stay away from them. Then again, no one will ever accuse me of being a genius.
Depending on what I’m doing, I either use Firefox or Tor. Tor eats up a lot of memory, though.
Ditto on Pale Moon. I like it a little better than Waterfox,
which is OK too.
What I really like about Pale Moon is that it works with some of the useful extensions that
has crippled, like , Cookie Autodelete and Download Helper
Brave is OK, but just inconvenient for the way I surf the web.
I won’t use Chrome since it is just one huge
spy program, and I can’t shake the feeling that it’s clones could be doing it too.

Use Brave Browser
The guy who created Brave Browser created JAVA and Firefox. He was forced to leave Firefox years ago because he supports traditional marriage. Think he is a strong conservative too.
Anyhow Brave is great and you do not have to put an Ad ons.
It is very fast.
I had a similar issue with my old Win7 laptop I use in my cave. I found that in one of the security settings, it was set to scan websites for security issues. I turned it off and my Firefox works much better. I still have good security with AV program. I don’t remember weather it was in FF setting or Norton settings. I didn’t turn them on and I figured they showed up in an update.

I decide in the ‘90s that OS/2 was the superior Operating System.
It went to 4+ versions of “Warp,” then became eComStation. It is now known as Arca Noae.
It is still the superior Operating System.
