Not certain exactly where "forest" ends and "brush" begins, but clearly the principles are the same -- you have to manage it, remove the dead wood, etc.

we visited that area including Priest Lake, Coeur d’Alene & Lake Pend Oreille. Really beautiful area.
Saw a few black bears in the woods there.
Glad they are taking care of their woods.
