(CNN) — The Selective Service website crashed Friday because of "the spread of misinformation," the agency tweeted.
The website's crash came hours after the announcement that the head of Iran's Revolutionary Guards' Quds Force, Qasem Soleimani, was killed by a US airstrike ordered by President Donald Trump. The hashtag #WorldWarIII was one of the top trends on Twitter Friday.

The gender discrimination question would be the least of the problems with the draft; after so many leaders (civilian and military) later admitted errors during the Vietnam War - and none of them were jailed - then there is no reason for Americans to let their government send their children anywhere anymore. Beyond the 60,000 Americans killed over there, a couple of million Vietnamese dies as well - and in hindsight the architects admit it was a mistake?
No thank you; protect our own country first - and send illegals as a means to earn their citizenship, and our able-bodied welfarians as a means to earn their room & board. This country has seen its last draft.
I registered in 1975, my draft number was 45.... I was lucky that they stopped the Draft by then.
Calling for a draft is stupid because the last time they did it the people sending them overseas later admitted countless mistakes in the whole operation. Sending Americans (volunteer or drafted) into foreign countries without a declaration of war removes a lot of protections accorded to captured enemies; when North Vietnam paraded and abused captured American airmen around and people cried foul, the communists responded that without any declaration of war some guys simply showed up over their country and started dropping bombs (killing A LOT of people).

I actually spoke to Graham while he was serving as a COL in the Air Force in Baghdad back around 2006 or 2007.

I guess nonsense protesting is the maximum courage & “patriotism” they can muster.
I was pointing out that Graham did put on a uniform and serve at least for a short time in the sandbox. If you read the comment I was replying to you could probably get that instead of just being unnecessarily rude.
Except this is not how we fight wars now. We will no longer send large armies into battlefields whenever we can use technology to defeat our enemies. What we need most are intelligent, dedicated people to design, build and test new military technologies right here in the US.
