Asparagus question: I have read that I should cut it back when it turns brown. I live in zone 8 and have barely had a frost. My plants are mostly still green with a little yellow on top.

Should I cut it back now or wait?

Zone 8! Lucky you!

I would let it die back naturally; all the while it is still alive, it is putting nutrition back into the root stock.

Once it looks dead, brown, crispy, etc., I’d cut it back to ground level.
