The son of television producer Jenji Kohan, who created the series Örange is the New Black, died in a New Years Eve ski accident in Utah, police said Thursday.
Charles Charlie Noxon, 20, was pronounced dead after hitting a sign Tuesday on an intermediate-level trail at Park City Mountain resort , police said.
He was alone and there were no witnesses to the crash, but it appears that it happened as he tried to navigate a fork in the trail, Summit County sheriffs Lt. Andrew Wright said.
A native of Los Angeles, Charlie Noxon was a junior at Columbia University, studying philosophy, economics and Chinese, his family said in a statement released by police.

Haven’t seen Orange is the New Black.
But I fear this event could lead to a new series named “Mourning is the new Happy.” Or some other emotionally dramatic series lacking fantasy, magic, chase scenes and explosions.
He came to a folk and took it?

He forked himself up.
Horrible. 20 years old. I don’t care who his father is or what he does.
Utah, where people go to experience Newton’s laws of motion.
I wonder if the sign said, “HERE’S YOUR SIGN”?
-snip-

I have a question. Did Charlie get in on a sports scholarship?
Utah: where people go to be reminded that “a man’s gotta know his limitations”.
That is too bad and prayers for the family.
I have run into trees and fallen over the side of cliffs while snowboarding.
Always, Always, Always wear a helmet
I’ve been lucky to only suffer concussions and cracked ribs...
That is a horrible loss. There really isn’t much to say except that I hope the family and friends are given the space they need to grieve.
Wife and I were fans. It was a pretty good show for the first four seasons or so and then it kinda petered out.
Tuition has gone up 43% in 9 years.
I got a kid who sky dives on a regular basis..... (Mom, I joined a club at school to meet girls!!!!)...... and now I have a lot more gray hair.
I can’t imagine anything more painful than the death of your child.
Prays for his family.
The article says he was wearing a helmet. That said, always, always, always wear a helmet! It keeps you safe, plus it keeps you warm.
I go out to Utah skiing with my son every year. Have never been much of a fan of Park City, which is the Disney of skiing. We like Alta, Solitude and Brighton.
I have a question.
Was he wearing a helmet?
Absolutely agree, and prayers are in order.
My son was over-the-moon into Snowboarding when he was in High School.
You’ll never know true terror until the Ski Patrol calls to tell you your son is on the way to the ER with a head injury from snowboarding and could you kindly come to the hospital? (Which was over an hour away!)
He had his helmet on. It ended up just being a concussion. He crashed after flying off a jump. When I finally got to see him, he looked up at me and said, “I don’t think I wanna do this anymore!”
But, of course, he did. And, of course, he’s tried numerous ways to harm himself since then, but he’s still around and in his 30’s now, so he’s a lot less reckless...and I’m not the first one on his ‘Call In The Even of Emergency’ card!
Raising boys is SO much fun. Not! ;)
(I could tell you a dozen stories that end up in the ER between the three of them. Oy!)
