The interviews have started, countless others have been scheduled and in Dallas they deliberate again.
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has over nine seasons of evidence as to what he has in Jason Garrett as a head coach. But it will take him at least three meetings to decide whether or not to bring him back next season, as the sides get set to gather again on Thursday.
All signs continue to point to Jones letting Garrett go with the coachs contract scheduled to expire on Jan. 14. But as the Cowboys delay hits 2020, other teams including two of their biggest rivals have quickly moved forward in their coaching searches.

Jones tried it with The Tuna, but you have to know, that he hated every minute of it. Even if he got them to the playoffs (with frickin' Quincy Carter at QB, no less)
Fear not... This will not be Brady’s final weekend, but April fools day may be his last game.
It may be his final game in New England, though, I don’t think they’ll host any games after this weekend.
No, that would be drafting Vince Young or JaMarcus Russell
In hindsight, yes. But there was no hindsight needed to see how dumb signed Zeke would be.
But I suppose you might be referring to my comments about the amazing Obama economy we're living through. Well, it was on all the news shows so of course I'm not being sarcastic. /s
There are too many factors. Does the coach even matter that much? Unless you have a defensive genius like Bellichick or Romeo Crenell, the GM may be more important these days.
Look at this year. Cam Newton got injured, and the Pantheres turned into the Dolphins. Drew Brees got injured, and the Saints went 5-0 in his absence. Is that because of Sean Payton? Who knows. Seattle was dominant, and now is reeling with third-string players in many positions.
The fact is, there has never been a coach who won their first Super Bowl after being with the team for more than five years.
It’s one of those cases where the change of scenery is probably best for both sides.
Cowboys main problem is that Jones won’t fire the GM and then step down.
They will host the AFC championship against Buffalo.
Yep, let’s see Mahomes and Jackson actually win when it counts.
I don't often disagree with you, but Chuck Noll was in his 6th year when he won his first Super Bowl. John Madden was in his 8th year when he first won. Tom Landry was in his 12th year before he won an NFL championship or Super Bowl. And Bill Cowher was in his 14th year when he won the Super Bowl.
How is Dak overpaid? He’s on his rookie contract making less than $1 million a year.
Got it lol. Good luck on playoff run compadre.
Yeap, wait game. He is under contract till Jan 14th. Jerry is hoping Giant will pick their new coach by that date.
“The rumor around DFW is that Jones may have money problems.”
I’m sorry, but that is just ridiculous.
Jerry? Is that you? Didn’t know you were a Freeper. Work on that smile, buddy. It makes you look creepy.
Long overdue but Jason is not the problem, Jerry is.
Jason is like his personal Howdy Doody, Jerry has his hand up his hinder and works his head from there!
And Jerry, you can hang your $100 parking and $25 hot dogs in your ***!
