The interviews have started, countless others have been scheduled and in Dallas they deliberate again.
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has over nine seasons of evidence as to what he has in Jason Garrett as a head coach. But it will take him at least three meetings to decide whether or not to bring him back next season, as the sides get set to gather again on Thursday.
All signs continue to point to Jones letting Garrett go with the coachs contract scheduled to expire on Jan. 14. But as the Cowboys delay hits 2020, other teams including two of their biggest rivals have quickly moved forward in their coaching searches.

In the end, that has to be one hostile workplace environment. I'm sure someone would take the job...but these guys dont just want a big paycheck...they want to WIN...and if the environment isn't conducive to winning, well, maybe the supply of candidates is basically Freddie Kitchens et al.
The rumor around DFW is that Jones may have money problems.
Making dumb deals with running backs, can lead to that. LOL!
He’s supposed to be the GM but his son actually runs the day to day operations. Put that with his losses to free agency it starts to make sense.
The good news... This may be a tangible indication that Jerry’s senility has progressed, thus paving the way for his family to institutionalize Jerry for the stability of his business ventures.
The man has obviously lost his marbles.
On the other hand, everybody is hanging on what’s going on with Jerry and the Cowboys.
Nevermind the fact, that we could very well witness Tom Brady’s final game this weekend, but what is everybody talking about? The Cowboys.
Jean's Art Collection costs money, you know. Jerry probably pays her a lot to keep her happy, considering all of his trysts over the years.
“Garrets trying to retire and Jones is trying to get him to stay because no other coach in their right mind will take the job.”
Garrett wants his own coaching staff and the ability to select the players he wants. Jones is the impediment to that.
His contract is up this week. No need to fire ... just don’t re-sign.
He deserves the right to hire his assistant coaches too, but that will never happen ... so they will stay mediocre at best.
I like Garrett. He’s a stand up guy and loyal to a fault. I wish him well but Jones and the Cowboys might be the first victim of the declining NFL revenue. Karma’s a biotch.
“The suspense is terrible. I hope it’ll last.”
Any running back will look good with the Dallas Oline. Overpaying RBs is stupid. Any coach with brains would sign Zach Zenner off the scrapheap...but he has no “upside” other than 3 straight 2000 yard seasons and 67 TDs at South Dakota and leading rushers in preseason after going undrafted. Nothing to see here.
It is for now, the next dumbest move would be sign Prescott for 30 million or more a year.
That and re-upping Garret.
But Jones is a narcissistic fool, so the opportunities to do “the dumbest ever move in NFL history” are endless.
Another interesting coincidence, a 2021 5 star QB recruit to Oklahoma has backed out.
Rumor is he wants to be a Gator.
The player or the Head Coach?
The player, Brock Vandagriff.
Please tell me you are being sarcastic.
For once I’m rooting for the Eagles. I love that nobody is giving them a shot.
I think they will beat Seattle.
It’s hard to root against Wentz.
