I’m no fan of the UN and want the US out of it yesterday, but this seems relatively innocuous. Figuring out what to do with all the soldiers is a pretty serious problem after a war, particularly in the Third World.
Since the US is one of the permanent members of the UN security council we can veto anything they want to do. We need to keep that power.
