Hubby was born in 1941. He is only 78.
1941 + 78 = 2019
He has not finished the 7th decade. He won’t begin the 8th decade until he turns 80. He wasn’t 1 year old when born, he turned 1 yr old in 1942. He’ll turn 80 in 2021.
The first decade didn’t happen until he turned 10 in 1951-that is when the first decade is reached. Even if he was born in 1940-he’d still only be 79 and in the 7th decade.
A decade has to be lived before it’s counted. And unless some one’s birthday is Jan 1 or 2, they are not yet 80 even if born in 1940. We posted this on 12/31, so no one had yet turned 80 from the 40s.
At any rate, hubby born in 1941 has not lived 9 decades-he’d be 90 years old if that was the case. He won’t be 90 till 2031. Think about it some more.
