Thousands of koalas are believed to have died from the intense heat and bush fires gripping Australia
Meanwhile, the fire danger in New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory has been upgraded to severe as temperatures rise
A desperate koala suffering in 40 degree-heat in Australia approached a group of cyclists to drink from a water bottle, according to media reports, as thousands of koalas are feared to have died from the intense heat and bush fires gripping the country, with the fire danger increasing on Saturday as temperatures soared.
The cyclists near Adelaide saw the koala in the middle of the road and when they stopped, the koala approached them, appearing to ask for water, Anna Heusler told local media on Friday.

Thirsty koala approaches cyclists for a drink of water - DW News
Happens every summer now.
Actually, they are mean little bastards. When they aren’t thirsty. I guess.
I guess cyclist stopping and giving water to Koala happens frequently down under. Positive I saw pictures of the same last year, if not two years ago. 95% positive it was this exact same photo. Maybe the same little guy just has gotten used to humans... or fake recycled news.
Ive heard everything in Australia wants to kill you, but those birds are particularly hardcore. Whats next, blackjack-wielding joeys?
I did t know that anyone in Australia spoke Koala.
24. Don’t forget the Snail Carter sauce.
They speak fluent Koala.
It’s English they have a problem with...............
Reminds me a little of a cat my neighbor was feeding. It was a beautiful huge black cat, but it was always getting into our garage and airplane hangar and pissing on everything including the cars and airplanes. So I caught it one day and let it go in a neighborhood over ten miles away and on the other side of a freeway.
The cat was back the very next morning and not looking happy with me. I gave up, but within a few months we coyotes moved into the neighborhood and ate all the cats. After that we were overrun with mice, rats and moles. It made me realize that the cats were providing a useful service despite eating all the birds and piddling on everything.
Hilarious cartoon... I didn’t realize how good the little guys are at finding their way back, but there is definitely some truth hidden there.
My wife and I found a house we really liked in Florida recently, its next to a lake and has a pool. Unfortunately, the pool and a portion of the structure is in an area that was deemed to be at high risk of flooding, although it hasn’t happened during past hurricanes. So the mortgage would require flood insurance which would be $7,000 a year and probably going up.
Our friends in Sebring live on a lake, but they are not currently required to carry flood insurance. Our relatives who live on a canal in Fort Meyers own their home outright, they carry flood insurance, but their policy is reasonably priced.
Not the Drop Bear variety.
